WildChat: defending Oregon's forest waters
July 28, 2020 –
Join us for a discussion on the Forest Waters Coalition to learn about the work that Cascadia Wildlands and a cohort of our allies are doing to reform the laws governing both State and private lands logging.
BACKGROUND: 80% percent of Oregon’s residents and communities draw their drinking water from rivers and streams that begin in a forest. Oregonians from across the state are working to update protections for rivers and streams in our forests to the level needed to safeguard clean water and forest communities. The effort is led by people who have suffered from a lack of protections for forest waters on Oregon’s private and state forestlands.
