Local Police swiped up and pressed charges against over a dozen protesters last week. EPD arrested 11 people, including two minors, that were allegedly involved in the protest on May 29. Including reports of arrests made by Springfield Police, the number stands at 14. Police are picking up people at their houses, workplace, and are tricking people into coming into the station.
Eugene Bail Support has been fundraising to support protesters arrested as well as friends/families fundraising for individuals, with one still seeking funds.
Lane County Mutual Aid along with Eugene Bail Support held a teach-in outside the Lane County Jail on Saturday, the eve of the 50th day of the hunger strike by the inmates. Organizers tied together lessons about the state repression going on inside the jail and carried out by the police recently. One speaker from Eugene Bail Support noted that there have been 20 felony arrests in the last couple months and gave a shout out to the Portland General Defense Committee for helping out financially with bail support.
