March 4, 2022Do you want to do something for the thousands of people in our city with no home and no knowledge of how to help?? For our final event of WAMI we wanted to give you all an opportunity to get involved and serve the community 🥰

The Day of Action and Strategy will begin with outreach of food, clothing, and emergency supplies to the many unhoused in the vicinity of the Whiteaker neighborhood and in Washington Jefferson park in particular. The Way Home will provide the food and supplies, give a brief training, and organize volunteers into outreach teams. After lunch (which will be provided) participants will break out into two groups. One group will look at efforts to decriminalize homelessness and consider different tactics to advance this cause. The other group will look at the shelters and sheltering conditions that are current, as well as projects in the works, and consider new ways to get people sheltered in different locations, or better sheltered where they sleep and live. Hope to see you there!!!
