  • BEST: LTD bus driver appreciation rally

BEST: LTD bus driver appreciation rally

    November 9, 2021

Better Eugene-Springfield Transportation (BEST) and other community partners would like to thank LTD's bus drivers, via an LTD Bus Driver Appreciation Rally on Tuesday, November 9 at 12pm at the Rosa Parks Plaza, LTD's Eugene Station.
The purpose of the rally is to highlight how critical public transit is to our community and to thank bus drivers for being front line workers under difficult conditions during the pandemic. Invited speakers will talk about the importance of transit and difficult working conditions.
Bus drivers have been front line workers since before the beginning of COVID-19, going through the difficult experiences of bus capacity restrictions, service cuts, loss of ridership, and more. During this challenging time, we want to celebrate what is good in our community; join us in the crowd, perhaps with a homemade handheld sign, to thank and show support for our LTD bus drivers and to highlight how important transit is to our community. Please come prepared for possible inclement weather.
This event will adhere to the COVID guidelines for Oregon. We will require masks, encourage distancing, and allow speakers to remove their masks only when they are speaking to the rally attendees.
Please contact Claire Roth at claire@best-oregon.org with any questions.

CLDC & Palestine Legal: Resisting online censorship of activists

    November 11, 2021

Activists often rely heavily on access to online spaces for organizing. Unfortunately, big tech companies have increasingly censored dissenting voices on social media and conferencing platforms.

Join a panel co-hosted by CLDC and Palestine Legal to discuss this problem, as well as alternative technology options that could help ensure access to the digital commons.
