    HAND: Mass meeting

    January 3, 2023

    📣Attention Eugene and Springfield!!!!📣
HAND is calling all tenants and their neighbors to the January Mass Meeting 🏠🏘🏬 The experiences and knowledge that tenants across both Eugene and Springfield bring is invaluable to growing our collective power. We need collective power to protect ourselves and our neighborhoods from enemies like landlords, police, and developers. We want to fight with you and we want to win together!

Eugene Housing and Neighborhood Defense is having our next Mass Meeting on Tuesday January 3rd from 6:30-8:30 at the Teamsters Union Hall. Bring your neighbors and we can unite our neighborhoods to fight for our needs and demands!!! ✊

  • Foraging album & certain days calendar release party

Foraging album & certain days calendar release party

    January 7, 2023

Saturday, January 7, 7:30 PM Show; 7 door: Foraging and the Rattling Bones, CD Release and Freedom for Political Prisoners Calendar Sale (Tickets Now On Sale, sliding scale $10-20; drop by the store or call 541-345-8986 to reserve.)

Foraging and the Rattling Bones is an old time-y string band from the dank woods of the coast range of Oregon, playing frantic fiddle tunes and rowdy sing-alongs with an emphasis on anti-capitalism, environmental justice and gender queering. Their lyrics are radical and new. Their music is infectious! Folks, this will be a concert like we haven’t had in many years here at the Bookbarn. This band is just getting going. Looking forward to watching them grow.

You can check out other recordings and find more information about the band on their social media and our youtube channel:

The Certain Days: Freedom for Political Prisoners Calendar is a joint fundraising and educational project between outside organizers across North America and political prisoner Xinachtli (s/n Alvaro Luna Hernandez) in Texas. The calendar has been in production since 2001 and features twelve pieces of art and twelve essays. We were happy to welcome founding members Herman Bell and Robert Seth Hayes (Rest in Power) home from prison in 2018, and founding member David Gilbert home from prison in 2021. We work from an anti-imperialist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, feminist, queer- and trans-liberationist position.

The 2023 Certain Days: Freedom for Political Prisoners calendar features original art and articles by  Zola, Jeff Monaghan and Andy Crosby, Kill joy, Noelle Hanrahan, Juan Hernandez, Dan Baker, Antiproduct, Upping the Anti, Katy Slininger, David Gilbert, Paul Lacombe, Garrett Felber, Oso Blanco, Mark Tilsen, Terra Poirier, Steve McCain, Lawrence Jenkins, Ed Mead, Windigo Army, Dio Cramer, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Scott Parkin, Seize the Mean, and Cindy Barukh Milstein.

Proceeds from the Certain Days 2022 calendar were divided amongst Release Aging People in Prison (RAPP), Mutulu Shakur legal support, Sundiata Acoli release fund, Palestinian Youth Movement, Burning Books expansion, Puget Sound Prisoner Support, Coalition to Decarcerate Illinois, Appalachians Against pipelines, Community Resource Initiative- CA, P4W Memorial Collective Prisoners’ Justice Day healing circle, Wet’suwet’en Solidarity Fund 2022, Cascadia Forest Defenders and NorCal Resist. Proceeds from the 2023 calendar will go to some of the same grassroots groups and more.
