October 3, 2024(2 events) – The first in a string of 20 jury trials of anti-war protestors for the action of stopping traffic on I-5 on the April 15th Coordinated Economic Blockade to Free Palestine will occur on Thursday, October 3rd at 11:30am at the Lane County Courthouse. Supporters plan to pack the court to support the defendant and assert that no one should be punished for protesting a genocide. Defendants and their supporters are calling for Eugene District Attorney, Chris Parosa, to drop the charges for all defendants without admission of guilt. Between October and January 2025, there will be at least one jury trial per week. Last week, Eugene residents launched a city-wide "Drop the Charges" campaign.
Lane County Circuit Court – GTFF, along with the other members of the Campus Labor Council, condemn the repression of free speech on UO’s campus. UO works because we do, and as employees at UO we deserve a workplace in which free speech is not targeted.
