August 28, 2020
Hi all,
As you may know on August 28, 1963 A. Phillip Randolph, Whitney M. Young Jr., John Lewis Bayard Rustin, James Farmer, and Martin Luther King Jr. lead a March on Washington for freedom and equality.
This summer, August 28th, 2020 there is another historic March on Washington taking place in Washington D.C. As a show of solidarity for our brothers and sisters in D.C. I am organizing a peaceful protest. It is our time to be heard and stand together for the betterment of our community and our nation.
Although, this event is not affiliated with BLACK_UNITY, I want to thank BLACK_UNITY for consistently organizing peaceful protests and allowing our community to be heard. Please take a moment to join their page, read about their cause, and make a donation if you can.
This will take place at 5pm Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the United States Federal Courthouse, Eugene, Oregon.
Again, this is a peaceful protest, intended to speak out in opposition of the violence, oppression and inequality taking place against the black community.
We WILL be respecting the guidelines of social distancing. If you do not have a mask, a mask can be provided to you.
We will be using this page to make announcements about speakers/performers, safety guidelines, and details. Additionally, we are still looking for more volunteers, speakers, and performers. Please feel free to reach out to me via messenger.
Thank you!
