BACKGROUND: 80% percent of Oregon’s residents and communities draw their drinking water from rivers and streams that begin in a forest. Oregonians from across the state are working to update protections for rivers and streams in our forests to the level needed to safeguard clean water and forest communities. The effort is led by people who have suffered from a lack of protections for forest waters on Oregon’s private and state forestlands.
