Eugene to soon make decisions about CSI funding, Lane County reverts to High Risk Level

City of Eugene to relook at CSI

The City of Eugene will start making decisions on allocations for the Consumer Safety Initiative. Council is set to hear from staff at a work session this Monday on what feedback was received during community engagement sessions and online survey. Willamette Valley Abolition Project and others are putting out a call to action to demand the city divert more money towards housing, education, and healthcare. The City has previously stated that the plans for the CSI would likely be divided into two work sessions, one for reviewing feedback and another for taking action on how the funds should be allocated.

Lane County returns to High Risk level

Lane County returned to High Risk Level Friday along with all other 14 other counties that were in Extreme Risk Level after the Oregon’s data showed that the seven day average increase for hospitalization due to COVID fell below 15%. The State of Oregon also extended OSHA workplace protections last week.

To make vaccinations more accessible the County removed the requirement of appointments and now allows walk-ins.
