June 2nd – We will talk about reclaiming the commons facilitated by Finn Po who maintains an abiding interest in the subject.  The topic is timely and relevant.  Protesters in Eugene have recently tried valiantly to prevent construction on the Willamette river greenway.  The Register-Guard covered the story on April 20, 2020 Protesters, tree sitter gather to oppose construction of Eugene apartment complex.  This will “bring home” the discussion.

For a great summary of the history and current status of the movement to reclaim the commons we are going to read David Bollier’s book, Think like a Commoner, A Short Introduction to the Life of the Commons.  There are several ways to acquire this text.  www.bookshop.org will support local bookstores.
