Ready to strike

Classified university workers declare impasse

On Monday, higher education workers represented by SEIU 503 declared impasse in their bargaining with administrators. Both sides have 7 days from Monday to release their final offers, you can read the current economic proposals here (spoiler: management’s proposals are very poor). Following that is a 30 day cooling off period, at the end of which workers can go on strike. Community members can sign this petition to show support. If you are a classified worker at one of the seven Oregon universities you can sign this strike pledge.

SEIU 503 higher Ed workers join fellow workers in the area at Kaiser, Mckenzie-Willamette, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Albertson’s that are prepared to strike this fall.
