Gov. Brown announced Friday that the state will lift all remaining emergency COVID restrictions on Wednesday or when 70% of adults are at least partially vaccinated, whichever comes first, with the former looking more likely. With this most mask mandates will go away, remaining in certain instances where they are federally mandated or in medical settings. The order will also remove required capacity limits and physical distancing.
This is a change of Gov. Brown’s previous decision to lift restrictions only when 70% of Oregonians were at least partially vaccinated. Brown said during a press conference that the reasons for this was to give businesses predictability and to line up with Washington.
