Oregon adds new and loosens COVID restrictions

  • Gov. Brown released new COVID policies last week. After the two week freeze 21 counties, with Lane County being among them, are likely to see a continued freeze. While new restrictions are going in place, the state is also loosening up restrictions, like allowing bars to open where they previously could not.

  • A couple weeks ago the UO College Democrats called out the UO College Republicans for their support of white supremacism. Specifically calling out their association with the Proud Boys after the group attended a rally with them. They asked for ASUO to revoke the UO College Republicans recognition. ASUO did not do that, but did condemn the group’s actions

  • Stop Death on the Streets ramped up pressure on City Manager Medary with a protest outside her house after the sweeps of the unhoused her agencies carried out

  • ASUO, police chief and Schill on partial disarming of UOPD

  • The City of Eugene is going ahead with new Farmer’s, now increased spending to $9.8M up from previous $4.5M cap.
